about

Once again, I’ve written another tune in 5/4. I seem to gravitate to that time signature because to me that meter always propels music forward. The tune is built on a bluesy riff that suggested to me lyrics along the lines of "You shouldn't do that or you'll ... "(fill in a one -syllable verb for each phrase). Maybe somebody can think up the rest of the words. The b-section was a fun opportunity to write horn harmony.
